MOTORISTS MAPS
TO BE KEPT FROM ENEMY
General agreement with the importance of keeping road maps out cf the hands of an. enemy in the event of any invasion was expressed at the annual conference of the North Island Motor Union. A letter from the Organisation for National Security oh the,subject, stating that U had been decided that publication should be avoided, was read. It was stated 1>3 T delegates that military information had been deleted from the maps and stock withdrawn from agents. Steps had been taken to destroy key maps in the event of an emergency. Mir G. W. Hutchison (Auckland) said that there_ were thousands of road maps in places where the enemy would, have access to them. He suggested that automobile associations should ask their members to return them for the duration of the war and have them handed back afterwards.
