The following resolution was passed at a recent meeting of the Morrinsville Farmers' Union: —

"That, this meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the Farmers' Union views with great concern the inability of the railway to cope with the carriage of fat stock in the past, ancl realising that the position must deteriorate in the coming season, owing to restrictions on the use of motor lorries, urges the Minister of Transport to see that special fat stock trains be run and given preference over all other rail traffic except, passenger expresses and, militar}' trains."
