PETROL CONSERVATION
Sir, —Waimana and Ni/suhou certainly seem to be getting more than their share of publicity with regards to the illicit use of. benzine and tyres lately, but I would like to take this opportunity of revealing to the public one or two outstanding cases. One of the residents recently made a trip of 100 miles in a big car for the sole purpose of cutting a hedge around a cottage section. Worse still! He did, not finish the job. There is one other matter of interest, to me.. In a letter published a short time ago by "Fair Play" lie made a rather sweeping statement about the young, people going to tlances. I think that he. owes them an apology, as most of the persons concerned are boys who have served lengthy periods in military camps or are awaiting call-up for the Air Force. Yours etc., "FAIRER PLAY." (Your query as to the fairness of some un-named person receiving a license for a specified, gallon-age cannot apply here and has therefore been deleted. Ed.)
