DENTAL CLINIC GRANTS
CHANGE IN SYSTEM
Changes in connection with the payment for general maintenance purjDOses of exxjCnses i-neurred by dental clinic committees were announced last week by the Minister of Health (Mir Ncrdmeycr). Last year the grant had; been fixed at £25 a nurse, said the Minister. Experience has revealed that this was inadequate for most, one-nurse clinics, while it was probably too high for others. The annual amounts now to be paid were.—l*or clinics without sub-bases, one nurse £32; two nurses, £50; three nurses, £68., Where such expenditure was specifically approved by the DirectorGeneral of Health, the cost of rental and maintenance of clinic premises not situated on school property and of the installation and rental of telephones of clinics would also be met by the Government. It was intended that grants .-would be paid half-yearly in advance during April and October.
