A very enjo\*able time Avas spent at the home of Sirs A. C. Clar'jj, Edgecumbe, last Tuesday afternoon, where many friends gathered in honour of Miss Joy Pepperell aylio is to be married shortly.

The drawing room Avas tastefully decorated Avith spring bulbs and iceland poppies and a cheery fire added to the comfort of the room. Mrs Clark received her guests wearing a smart black embroidered frock. The afternoon Avas spent Avitli competitions and games. A dainty afternoon tea Avas served and then Mrs Clark took the opportunity of wishing Miss Pepperell every happiness in the future and. presented her with a bouquet and handsome jardinier.
