EX-SERVICEMEN
HOUSES AND FURNITURE
The importance to the nation of "houses and the steps being taken by the Rehabilitation Board to provide homes and furniture for returning servicemen were dealt with recently by the chairman of the board, Mr M. Moohan. He said that the board was going to get finality on three essentials. Each house must be a home to be proud of and must embody the best facilities for the housewife to do her work. The furniture must be pleasing as well as useful, and there must be no delay in producing the house and furniture. "Houses and furniture," said Mr Moohan, "are absolutely essential for the successful rehabilitation of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and their dependants. "As chairman of the Rehabilitation Board, I give this definite assurance, both to the men and their relatives, that the completion of the defence construction programme will see the beginning of a comprehensive housing scheme."
