HOSPITAL RATING QUESTION Sir, —J think that the New Zealand Workers' Union have taken a one sided view of their case, with regard to the hospital rating though they have the Social Security to pay. The man on the land has the extra hospital tax on the land to pay as well. The resolution reads that the community, (or unimproved) land value belongs to the people, therefore the costs of hospitals should' be charged against it; as the land values are pretty well mortgaged to Foreign Banking institutions by previous Governments and the Government being an accessary to the fact, therefore we should demand that public hospital costs come from the consolidated funds. This is a striking example of how party politics keep the community with their heads bumping so that they 1 may keep their seats in the House/ When labour realises how they were sold in 19*35 we will get a real Democratic Government and we will not need to squabble over rates and taxes. What is wanted is a government. for the people not the people for the government. Your etc., W. BRADSHAW.
