BLACKSMITHS WANTED
OFFICIAL ATTITUDE DEFINED
The difficulties consequent upon the serious shortage of blacksmiths was brought before the notice of the Government by the Auckland Farmers' Union some months back, and a letter has now been received from the Minister of National Service, Mr W. J. Broad foot, in which he states that a recommendation has been given to Appellate Tribunals that specially sympathetic consideration should be given to appeals for those men whose services were essential for the requirements of the farming community. The Minister suggested that, the Executive might be aide to bring under the notice of Appeal Hoards cases where the release of blacksmiths or eeach builders from camp would be of materia! assistance I" the farming community.
