NURSING IN LOCAL HOSPITAL
MATRON'S A PPRECI ATI ON
Reporting- to the Whakatane Hospital Board last Thursday Matron Runciman, expressed her personal appreciation of the work of the Red Cross and St. John Ambulance V.A.D. workers, during the period of acute staff shortage owing to illness. The standard of work, she s*aid, had been excellent and the willingness of these workers to toil at short notice and a,t all times was something to be warmly commended. The assistance saved the situation at a most awkward time. The Board decided to pass on its official thanks' to the two organisations named.
