WOMEN FOR WAR WORK
■■ 500 REGISTER IN WAIKATQ The completion of registration of Cambridge and Hamilton women between the ages of 22 and 2.1 years has made available to the Manpower Officer, Mr L. McKimion, a pool of 500 for drafting into essential industries as they are required. The 500 registrations will suffice for immediate requirements and leave the Manpower Officer with a range of choice that will not necessitate the calling-up of women in key positions. Officers of the National Service Department have been busy over the last few clays interviewing employers regarding the women who. can most easily be spared to take up essential war work.
