GARDENING CIRCLE

WHAKATANE MEETING A very enjoyable afternoon was spent at Mrs JJ. Young's residence where, the .June meeting of the gardening circle was held. A new member, was enrolled. Mrs G. R. Kent gave a very instructive and interesting reading on potatoes and their culture, Mrs Brown acting as demonstrator. Members enjoyed a stroll around the garden and inspecting the shrubs which had just been pruned. The roll call, autumn and winter ilowering shrubs, were well responded to some members bringing a specimen bloom. Afternoon tea brought the gathering to a elose.
