FORGERS FOILED
BY LONDON PRINTERS OF STAMPS A. new "fugitive" ink for cheques and other documents which spreads when tampered with by forgers has been developed by London printers. Successful experiments had been made when war broke out, but in spite of being very busy 011 war work they have found time to de-; velop their discovery.
Printers of postage stamps for Britain and the Colonies, -the latest war job to come their Avay is the series issued for the Free French colonies. Only a few Aveks after General de Gaulle's troops landed on the island of St. Pierre and Miquelon, near NeAA'foundland, these printers Avere at Avork on the colony's new stamp, the most recent of the series. Gisborne Finds New Markets The opening of the bornc raihvay has resulted immediately in new markets being found for Gisborne maize, orders having been booked lor the Tailiape, Wanganui, Wairarapa, and M-anawatu districts. AA'hich hitherto liaAe draAvn supplies from the Bay of Plenty because of. the 1 availability of rail transport. The district farmers have been quick to exploit neAv markets for livestock also.
