RATIONING PROBLEMS FOOTW KAR ALTERATIONS Alterations have been made in coupon values for footwear to come into force on Monday. The alterations took efTeet as from Monday, and the new coupons values are as. follows: Women and girls' shoes, boots and sandals, all sizes, 2 coupons; boys' and youths' boots, shoes and sandals, 2 coupons; canvas shoes with rubber soles, men's women's, girls' and boys', sizes two and over, 2 coupons; children's footwear of all types up to and including size one, 1 coupon. In regard to coupons required from members of the armed forces, it had been agreed to defer the necessity for coupons for such personnel until Monday, aTter which no clothing would be issued to New Zealand soldiers without the surrender of coupons. Some misunderstanding had arisen regarding the supply of hosiery to girls under 16 years of age, and a statement that they would be able to secure hosiery coupon free was not correct. For them the position was the same as announced recently, namely that the X 7 coupon would be required for fully fashioned silk and artificial silk hose, two M coupons for fully fashioned lisle and cashmere, and one M coupon for circular fashioned silk, artificial silk, lisle or cashmere.
