FARM MANPOWER
MAINTAINING PRODUCTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE SET U1 The Eastern Bay of Plenty Primary Production Council sitting at Whakatane yesterday was advised by the Minister of Primary Production that it was
necessary in order to maintain production to release men from military service who were urgently needed on the land. The matter was listed as urgent in view of the increasing demands which will be made upon the farming community-in the forthcoming season to maintain the country's war effort. The Council decided to lose no time in setting up sue!) a committee to operate as soon as possible. The names of the personnel will be advertised in the press in the near future, and farmers are urged to contact these men as soon as possible in order to lose no time in the matter of building up production again.
