PERSONAL
Miss Joan McConnell, wlio is on the nursing staff' of the Auckland Public Hospital, is at present on holiday' in Waimana, and is: staying with her mother, Mrs W. McConnell. Mr R. S. Sloan who has been appointed to the management of the Regent and Grand Theatres, Whakatane, arrived yesterday. Mr Sloan who has already seen service overseas in England and in Egypt, left New- Zealand with., the 2nd Efchelon.
