1,000 GOATS DIE
SENT TO FREEZING WORKS
An unusual consignment of stock reached the KaiLi. freezing works recently in the shape of 1000 goats, states a Gisborne correspondent.
They camo from the back country, where they were used to control blackberry. They had done such u good job that there was little now for them to eat but grass, which was required for more valuable stock.
There is no market for goats in this district and their carcases arc only suitable for boiling down fo» by-products.
