STOCK BY-PASS
POSITION AT TANEATTJA
At the meeting of the County Council yesterday the County Clerk reported that the County Solicitor had., in regard to the recent investigations of the stock route Taneatua, mentioned that as fr-r he was aware there were agreements in regard to such route. A search had been made and such agreements showed that Mr William Howell had bound himself bv bond in the sum of, £140 to grade the first portion of .such road, from the State Highways, •30ft wkle, metal :12ft, 9" deep, culverts to be constructed where required, and outlets for surface water to be provided, the Avork generally to be done to the satisfaction of the council. Furthermore, Mr Howell had entered into another agreement Avith the council undertaking to give free of charge to the council, as and for a public road, a one chain strip of land, being a continuation of the ro«ul covered, bv the bond abovementioned, on the site of the proposed stock route, etc. etc.
The council decided that in accordance with Mr W. Howell's agreements, the necessary notices lie served on him for the opening of this road—that the council defer meantime consideration of Mr Howell's £140 bond.
