FAREWELL TO MRS L. HUNTER On Friday afternoon tlie members of the Croquet Club met at Mrs Chamberlain's residence in Street to bid farewell to Mrs L» Hunter, a member of the club for twenty years, who is leaving Wha-." katane to make her home in Tauranga. A pleasant time was spent with competitions, the winners be- . ing Mesdanies Mulholland and Wooliiams. After a dainty afternoon tea had been served the president of the club, Mrs A. C. Shaw, in a neat little speech expressed regret at departure of Mrs Hunter and loss to Whakatane and the Croquet Club, but wished lier good luck in her new home, and presented her with a small token of remembrance and a bouquet. In replying Mrs Hunter thanked the members and regretted her connections with the club but hoped to often revisit the lawns for a game.
