A young territorial Sinclair Anderson appeared in the Whakatane 'Court before Messrs G. Brabant and J. G. Mulholland, J.P.'s, last Friday pleading guilty to the Avro-ng* ful conversion of a bicycle. The defendant according to police had arrived at the rail-" way station on leave and as there was no method of reaching his home 3ie had appropriated the bicycle. Defendant claimed that he had ►every intention of returning the machine as he was only desperate to get home. The bench decided that under the unusual circumstances a light fine would meet the position, and a pen.alty of £3 was fixed.
