MOBILE CANTEEN
COMING TO NEW ZEALAND
The National Service Department has ordered from Great Britain a completely equipped mobile canteen and a complete equipment for a cooking depot l'or bulk emergency feeding, states the April issue of the E. P. S. Bulletin. These importations will be similar to the models which have been used succcsfully in Great Britain under blitz conditions.
They will be used here l'or demonstration purposes, and will serve as patterns for the making of-simi-lar equipment in New Zealand.
This equipment is suitable for military or other camps if not re-< quired for civilian purposes.
The Queensland Air Raid Precautions authorities were the first in Australia to get a mobile canteen for the use of the Civil Defence organisation. The value of this "refresher" was pleasantly proved during raid precautions exercises and blackout tests in Brisbane.
