Rainfall on the Plains

Figures covering the rainfall at Edgecumbe have been reeeivecl from Mr Andrew McLean, lor t,he month of June. A total of 1.71 inches fell though there were only four wet days and 1.20 fell on the 30th alone. The total for the year to date is now 15.20 inches against 28.33 inches for a similar period last year. June 1941 showed a fall Of 5.7G inches. During the 24 hours ended yesterday morning no less than 4.50 inches of rain fell 2.30 of which fell during the night. E'dgecumbe during June had no less than 23 consecutive frosts.
