FURTHER PROSECUTION
SECOND NATIVE GUILTY
The third arrest by the police in connection with the theft of the boots from Hannah's shop, resulted in the prosecution of Walter Mason, another young Maori who had been associated with Watarawi. Appearing yesterdaj 7 before the same justices Mason pleaded guilty to the theft of boots valued at £1 8s (jd. He too was sentenced to a month's imprisonment in the local gaol.
