KITCHEN AFTERNOON
MISS RUTH MACDONALD HONOURED A very pleasant afternoon was spent at Mrs* Granswick*s home last Saturdaj', when Mrs Cranswick and Mrs Jerram were hostesses at a kitchen afternoon given to Miss Ruth Macdonald. Nukuhou North, who is to be married shortly. The party was held out-of-doors in the glorious sunshine. Mrs Cranswick and Mrs Jerram received their guests wearing smartly tailored winter frocks. The afternoon was spent at competitions and social chat. The clock golf was won. by Mrs R. Axtens and Mrs King. . Paper competition was Avon by Miss Mavis Wardlaw, hidden parcels were found by Mrs R. Tipping and Miss Gobie Kalff. After a dainty afternoon tea had been served by the hostesses,, Mrs Jerram in well chosen words asked the guest of honour to accept the many and useful gifts from all present with best wishes for her future happiness. Miss Macdonald suitably replied, thanking all and Mrs Cranswick and Mrs Jerram for the happy afternoon. Those present were: Mrs Crans\yick, Mrs Jerram, Mrs Woolfield, Mrs King, Mrs Ryan, Mrs Axtens % Mrs Macdonald, Mrs Burnett,. Mrs Tipping, Mrs Miller, Mrs Croft, Mrs Sterling, Mrs I.
