OBITUARY
MR H. D. DANSEY I The death of Mr H. D. Dansey; I Mayor of Rotorua, which occurred I last Monday will be deeply regretted I by many friends and local body I members in this district. Mr Dansey I who was sixty-six years old was born I In Rotorua ancl had lived in thatfl town most of his life. He served fori four years in the New Zealand sion during the last war and forM bravery in the field where he attain-1 ed the rank of Captain he. awarded the Military Cross. S Settling in Rotorua he prominent in local life and ed unsuccessfully the Eastern MaoriH Seat in 1938 against Sir Ngata. He was chairman of theH Rotorua Chamber of Commerce was activelj r associated with erous local organisations. At the last elections® he was elected Mayor. > The late Mr Dansey is by his widow, Mrs Winifred ence Dansey, three sons, Sergeant Dansey and Lieutenant G. Dansey, who are serving with the forces, J. Dansej' who ig a pupil the Rotorua High School, one ter, Miss P. Dansey, who is also pupil at the High School brothers, Mr G. R. Dansey, gotaha, Mr E. P. Dansey, tonga, and one sister, Mrs E. of Rotorua.
