INSTITUTE MEEETING
The Waimana-Nukuhou Women's Institute held their June meeting recently in the Waimana Hall, there was a very good attendance, and Mrs Hewitt presided. Minutes and correspondence were dealt with and an apology was received from Mrs King for her absence. The birthday arrangements are to be discussed at the next meeting. - The Golden Thread was given by Mrs Gallagher, who read a most interesting paper K on Okarei-Koraka, Rotorua. The roll call, Places I would like to visit and Why, was Avell responded to; some suggesting a visit to the bush ethers W T hale Island and Scotland and other countries. Talks were given on the Adult Education. School held at Tauranga, and wero most interesting. A competition arranged by ,Mrs Wylde (articles used in* the kitchen) was won by Mrs Woolfield. Three little girls gave a clever exhibition of the "Sailor's Hornpipe," Irish Jig and a Skipping Dance, they were Nola Rust, Lois and Dora Wardlaw. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, and much enjoyed by all. The day's competitions were: Best flower, single, Mrs T. Wardlaw 1; f" Mrs F. Bell 2. Best flower, double, Mrs T. Wardlaw 1; Mrs F. Bell 2. Best vegetable, Mrs F. Bell 1; Mrs T. Wardlaw 2; Mrs Wylde 3. Piklets, Mrs Hewitt 1; Mrs T. Wardlaw 2; Mrs W, Addison 3. Dessert ap-t Dies, Mrs I. Savage 1; Mrs Black % Mrs T. Wardlaw 3. The meeting closed with the National Anthem.
