Miss Puti Eruera, of Tc Teko, avlio is a trainee at the Hamilton Hospital, is at' present home on sick leave. Miss Eruera was recently successful in passing the State Preliminary Examination i'or nurses with distinction in practical nursing. Mr and Mrs Alf. Hayter, who for many years have been host and hostess of the Whakatane Hotel will be relinquishing their change about the end of the present month. Mr Hayter has held the license far the past 12 years during which time he has made a wide circle of friends in town and district. Mrs Hayter has been notable for her splendid Avork in connection Avith most ch'ic efforts, and more latterly in the interests of the Red Cross and Patriotic Funds. Both Mr and Mrs Hayter Avill be missed by many friends. They Avill make their future home' in Auckland.
