MEETING AT TANEATUA The monthly meeting of tlie Women's Division of the Farmers' Union Avas held on Tuesday, June 16, Mrs Prince vice-president, presiding in the absence of Mrs E. Hill Avho has recently undergone an operation in the Whakatane hos-pital. On opening the meeting Mrs Prince asked members to stand in silence as a mark of respect to the late Mrs Doolan who had been a member of thy division for some years. Tavo new members were Avclcomed to the meeting. The secretary drcAV members attention to the tour of Mr Brian Dunningham and said that Mr Dunninghani would speak in the pavilion at 11. a.m. on Tuesday 23rd, and hoped that all interested Avoiild try and attend the meeting. Mrs M. Grace's demonstration on the making of slippers from old felt hats Avas followed Avith interest and a vote of thanks Avas passed to hector the trouble shed taken in distributing patterns etc. Competitions Ave re Avon as folloAvs: Pie melon jam, Mrs Anderson 1; Mrs Hay ward 2: Mrs Bennett 3. Wall competition, Mrs Gardner. Lunch was served by Mesdamcs A. McGougan, Tocker and Fox. The meeting closed Avith the singing of the National Anthem.
