TRIP TO TE TEKO

AMBULANCE FIELD DAY HOME GUARD UNITS COMBINE Members of the Whakatane Home Guard Ambulance. Section travelled to Te Toko yesterday for the purpose of combining with the Ambulance Unit of the Rangitaiki Battalion and demonstrating the mobility and utility of the 'trailer,' and some of advanced work which has since been undertaken by the locals in connection with the recent mock battles. A very useful and interesting day resulted, members of the country battalion expressing the warmest appreciation of the demonstrations of stretcher -drill and the more realistic displays undertaken in 'field practice." It is possible that as a direct result of Saturday's visit steps will be taken by the Rangitaiki Battalion to build their own mobile unit, from funds supplied by the AAvake N.Z. Committee.
