WORSE THAN CUTTING THE PERCENTAGE A Londoner was telling of his experience in the country recently. In the evening he went to liis "local" for a drink of beer. "Sorry," the innkeeper said. "I have no beer left." He decided to walk along to the Crown. When he reached there he was told: "Yes, we've got some beer, but j'ou'll have to use your own glass." He had no glass, so he walked to the White Horse. It was a few minutes to closing time "when he arrived. Outside on a bcnch, was an empty glass. He picked it up, went in, and asked for a j pint. 1 "Is that your glass?" he was asked. "Yes," he said. "Sorry. We can only serve one pint to each customer. You've had yours." j
