i .« — 1 i OBLIGATIONS OF EMPLOYERS 4 A reminder to employers that s they are liable to substantial I penalties if they fail to comply . with obligations placed on them , regarding the compulsory cnrol- , ment of persons in the E.P.S. , was isslued by the Minister of L National Service, Mr Sample. "There is >a duty, on employ- ; ers,*' he said, "to check up on all their male employees to ensure that, if they are not already in the Home Guard or the Emergency Fire Service, all those from 18 to 65 years of age have enrolled in the E.P.S. An enir ployee's production of an E.P.S. identification certificate, or receipt of enrolment form, v/ill be sufficient evidence of compliance for the employer. In cases of doubt, employers should' get in touch with the local E.P.S. organisation. Case's of apparent default by employees should be reported to the Director of National Service."
