Tn a very successful full rink tournament at Te Puke on King's: Birthdaj r , a local team, skipped by Marsh enjoyed: a very popular win after a keen and exciting play-off with Potter (Tauranga) whoso team enjoy the reputation of being the 'Bay' champions.

The. final between these two teams was one of the most keenly contested games seen this season. Potter, leading a high-class team, was favourite with the large gallery, but the unexpected happened and Marsh's team never looked like being beaten. A four on tliei third head, when Marsh with his last bowl trailed kitty to the right place, gave them a good start and the game was clinched at the seventh head when Hayward, his No. 3, took luttyi to the ditch when the Tauranga team had bowls all around it. The standard of bowls seen, in this game was good, and the Whakatane team thoroughly deserved their win. The final score was 11 —7. The following teams competed:— Section 1 Baxter, Grant, Salmon, Greeke (Whakatane) 2 wins. Mclsaac, Currah, Pearson, Howat (Whakatane) 2 wins. Potter, Conder, Bell, Guinness (Tauranga) 5 wins. Manning, Wylie, Pocock, Baker. (Te Puke) 2 wins. Spratt, Mollgaard, Bartram, Todd (Te Puke) % win. Knight, Caldwell, Barrett, Irvine (Te Puke) 3V 2 wins:.
