SO THIS IS RATIONING

IT naturally becomes all newspapers to pass comment upon the newly released clothes rationing sanctioned by the Government and compiled we have been assured by a board of economic experts. From a purely personal point of view ,we feel that a little fair thinking will convince the most biased person that, under the scheme, there will be very little need to go without any thing that we have been used to in the past. For the average person the details of apparel and other requisites which are permissable, will amply provide for the usual clothing which they have been in the habit of purchasing in the ordinary course of events. Those who have been more or less slaves to dress, will suffer to their own betterment, while some of our fashion-plate females will also feel the pinch. On the other hand there is little one can take exception to in the individual allocations made. The scheme places all persons upon a commonsense and soundly economic basis and there should be little need for any fears of business decline or shrinking shop returns. Clothes rationing is but a further step towards self discipline, of which so many of us are woefully in need.
