'BLACKOUT' ALERT?
THE importance of conforming promptly with the duties required by the 'blackout' alert, a further test of which will take place on an unnamed ctoy this week cannot be overemphasised. It is the responsibility of all citizens to co-op-erate with the authorities to the utmost in making the test as complete as possible, for the objective is to create the same conditions as if the town were undergoing- an actual 'blackout' due to the threat of real danger. The moment the. sirens are heard, it is expected of all townspeople that they will retire without delay to their prepared light-proof rooms and remain therein until the all clear. The procedure is simple and in the interests of themselves and their families should ever there be need to sound a genuine alarm citizens are asked to do their duty in this respect.
