SUBSTANTIAL SLIP

WAIMANA GORGE BLOCKED REMOVAL DURING WEEK-END The drizzle of consistent \raim which fell last Thursday evening was probably responsible for a substantial slip across the roiad way through the Waimana Gorge last Frid'ay at noon. The slip which completely blocked the road fcr some hours was almost in the middle of the gorge and was approximately two chains wide. Public works officers had men on the job as quickly as possible and a temporary crossing Avas made over the rubble, enabling vehicles to pass. Yesterday the main obstacle had been removed and it is hoped to have a completed clearance to-day.
