E.P.S TEST
THE second E.P.S. test in the Whakatane Borough takes place some evening during this week. Residents are warned that upon the first sound of the alarm signal (the fire siren, rising and falling three times) they must retire to the special light j>roof room, which all households should have provided by now. The E.P.S. officers will be on the alert in all sections of the Borough and offenders against the lighting regulations will be proceeded against in accordance with the recently gazetted penalties. In order to doubly ensure that the warning shall be heard in all parts of the Borough specially mounted sirens will be sounded from trucks which will be driven through the more distant sections. The public is asked to co-operate to the fullest extent in the forthcoming test which will furnish the E.P.S. with valuable data and oilier information for future reference.
