ADULT EDUCATION
WINTER SCHOOL THIS MONTH You are probably finding that in spite of, or perhaps even because of the present conditions, you are needing a respite, a rest, a holiday, but that the ordinary holiday we have all enjoyed in the past does not quite meet the present need. Now last year in Tauranga women made history in organising and carrying through the first winter school for women out of Auckland city. A number of country women made that school their holiday and many since agreed individually and in groups: that the week stood out in their experience as something worth while. It was recreative in the true sense of the word. They thought about different things. They shared their thoughts with new and old ac-. quaintances in informal talk over merry supper parties and in more direct and planned discussion over definite questions following lectures. Such questions and their discussion both threw light on old and' worrying problems and gave a fresh conception of women's: plsce in the wider world both as it is and as they hope it will be. Now the Tauranga Women's Committee of Adult Education have the vision and the courage to offer you another opportunity this year. They realise the need is even greater. This year the school will have two themes—(l) Human Relationships, and (2) Reconstruction. The lectures have been arranged with ample spaces for private visiting, etc. Mrs E. C. Haultain is the secretary, from whom particulars and enrolment forms may be obtained.
