Wardens Offend
A -Christchurch warden, on his
evening rounds, passed the pavilion of the Canterbury Bowling Club to find it well lighted inside and out and with totally inadequate precautions taken. He hurried in, knocked at the door, and greatty to his surprise found he had interrupted a meeting of light wardens. The patrol warden told a reporter later in the evening that for a minute he was too astonished to speak, but once recovered he "gave it to them good and hard" and told them they should be ashamed of -themselves. "There were lights everywhere," he said.
