LEST there should be any of our readers who may have read into the article appearing in Monday's issue relative to the above direct criticism of the Board we hasiten to dispel that impression. We realise the heavy burden of responsibility imposed upon the local Hospital Board and the growing' difficulties with which it has to contend since the launching- of the Social Security Scheme. Our sole endeavour was to focus attention upon the state of affairs now existing in the institution whereby sick and weakened persons are compelled to undergo an ordeal which can only be calculated to aggravate their suffering rather than to bring abou'c the desired cure.
