A small shipment of specially selected Romney ewes was recently made from Sir William Perry's noted Penrose stud at Masterton by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., to a New South Wales client. These are to form the nucleus of a high class stud being founded in the Yass district by Mr A. J. Kitchen, of Gungahlin, Yass Road, and shou.d be ideal for the purpose as they are low set. exceptionally well conformed ewes, carrying the typical high class Penrose wool which is renowned for its wearing quality. Before being' shipped the ewes were carefully mated to two of the leading sires being used in the stud including No. 382/37 (35523), which was an unbeaten champion in the North Island for the three years when shown In the wool. .
