BOROUGH COUNCIL'S PROBLEM OFFICERS FOR MILITARY CAMP Steps to safeguard the council against further loss of its officers were advised by His Worship the Ma.yor at last Borough Council meeting when he pointed: out that unless Mr F. W. Lysiaght's enlistment in the Air Force was opposed the whole of the Borough, electrical, system would be placed in jeopardy. It would be next to impossible to replace him and it was therefore necessary toi appeal. Mr Barry mentioned also the fact that the Borough Foreman (Mr W. ■.Henderson) and the- Town Clerk (Mr ||3 ! . V. Saunders) were also likely to be called in the next ballot. He asked therefore that the council grant him the. power of entering an appeal in both instances should' the .occasion arise. The above course was agreed to. The council also agreed to appeal on behalf of Mr ID. Scragg, the only remaining- electrical contractor left tn the Borough, and whose name appeared in the last ballot.
