Cr Shapley pointed out that last summer, the brigade was continually called. 1 out to attend such, outbreaks, whereas if some measure of control were instituted the council could proceed against the owner. | Cr Creeke said there were many glaring cases and the council should arm itself with authority to act. Even at the Heads it had been necessary fre burn off a patch. Cr Armstrong (drily): Yes at night! The matter was referred to the Finance Committee to frame a new by-law with authority to penalise offenders.
