DAIRY PRODUCTION
THE SEASON'S FIGURES DECREASE OF OVER TEN PER CENT The 'following details have been supplied by Mr W. G. Lemmon, Secretary to the Bay of Plenty Dairy Company, of the production figures lor the local factory for the month of March and for the' season to date. The general decrease in production which has been going o.n throughout the season has not been arrested, and with the March figures well down from those of the xjrevious year, a decline of over ten per cent is shown, says the Te Puke Times. This decrease is most noticeable «n the Marck pay-out, which is approximately one third lower than that for 1941. Butterfat received amounted to 383,9261b., against 573,9651b., a decrease of 190,0421b. The pay-out is £J1,05G lower, being 522/261 against £33,317. The total jjay-out for the season July to March has been £270,834, this being a decrease of £30,027 over the previous year's' pay-out. Butter manufactured to date has amounted to 2548 tons Bewt. 351b. Toi the same date last year 2842 i tons 35c\vt. Icjr. 3811). had been made, so that this season's production has fallen by over 294 tons:. The decrease lor the season to date represents a fall of 10.35 per cent.
