FOR WAR PRISONERS AUTHORITY NOW GIVEN" The Gorman authorities have agreed to allow boiler suits and shirts of any colour, including lchaki, to be sent in quarterly next-of-kin parcels to prisoners of Avar, according to a, cable received by the Prisoners Inquiry Office. The number of prisoners now on the office files is 6099, comprising Army 5873, Air Force 132, Navy 7, miscellaneous 25, merchant seamen and civilians 2tG, unofficial 36. It is expected that all labels for next-of-kin whose parcels are now due to be forwarded will be sent out well before April 20. I'n the same envelope will be a new edition of the official brochure. All next-of-kin will receive this and a pamphlet containing official reports from the International Red Cross, Geneva. There are about 12 photographs in the edition, and copies of recent letters from prisoners in most camps where New ZealandeTS are detained. New instructions will be given, particularly in regard to chocolate. Information dated the end of December froan Udine Camp, Italy, says the majority of the men there were from the Dominions. Quite a lot of clothing has been received from the Red Cross, and a food parcel every week.
