GATHERING AT ONEPU
MISS S. TEBBUTT HONOURED
A very pleasant function was held recently in the Oncpu Hall when a large company of friends assembled to honour Miss Sybil Tebbutt prior to her marriage and departure from the distict. The evening was spent very pleasantly in games, competitions and dancing.
After supper Mr EL Briggs expressed to Miss Tebbutt the sincere good wishes of 'her many friends nnd asked her to accept the gifts brought for her as a token of the love and esteem of those who knew her. A most interesting time was spent in the opening of the gift parcels after which Mrs Eivers. on behalf of the To Teko branch of the Women's Division, presented Miss Tebbutt with an electric toaster, expressing the gratitude of all members of the Division for her willing and valuable help at all times. During th e evening Mkss Kay Briggs presented the guest of honour with a beautiful bouquet of dahlias and fern. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought a very enjoyable evening to a closew
