TRENCHES AT SCHOOL

APPEAL FOR WORKERS SHELTERS FOR THE CHILDREN The upshot of the battle with the Education Authorities for the right to construct shelter trenches in the Primary School grounds is that permission has at last been given together with the Departmental blessing. The work wiill therefore be undertaken on Saturday next. What are needed now are volunteers' to assist in the work of digging. Every one can do their bit in this direction, not merely Home Guardsmen, but E.P.S. workers, parents, youths, Scouts and l pensioners. Many hands make light work and those who are unable to work for long can be excused after an hour or two. First shift will be from: 9 a.m. till 12 noon and the second! 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. Roll up everybody with spades and shovels. Morning and' afternoon tea provided.
