The Theatres

REGENT Although all the "actors" in the brilliant R.A.F. film, "Target for To-night," now screening at the Regent, are anonymous, it can now be revealed that the handsome pilot of the bomber, "F for Freddie," which makes the sensational attack on "Freihausen," is Acting-Squad-ron Leader Percy Charles Pickard, D.S.O. Squadron-Leader Pickard was in actual command of the brilliant paratroop attack on France only a few weeks ago the story of which woin headline news in all despatches from the BBC and which was featured so prominently in our New Zealand papers. Like the other members of the cast, he has never had any acting experience. This is the real thing—not a stunt staged for the movies. Distributed by Gaumont, British, Dominion Films, it was actually made by men of the R.A.F. There are no professional actors in the cast. You will see the Chief of the Bomber Command, Air-Marshal Sir Richard Pierse. The man who plays the station commander is a tall, very Eng-lish-looking D.S.O. and he really is a station commander. The captain of a bomber is a squadron leader who has already made 48 trips over Germany, and the curljvhaired wing commander is a D.S.O. wing commander. who once flew over Venice at a height of 50 feet. The adventure that is filmed is an actual raid over Germany, and you will see bombs dropping, the huge fires raging, hear the men talk, and be abl'e to appreciate the thrills and excitement of a very daring exploit.
