COUNTY OFFICERS WORK PRAISE FROM CHAIRMAN The question of Native rates was introduced at last County Council meeting when the 1 chairman remarked that the council could consider itself most fortunate in having the services of Mr A. O. Stewart. To date he had collected approximately £2500. His was a difficult job for he was educating the Maori to pay his rates which was quite a new thing for many of them. To his mind he had been very successful indeed.
