WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting of the Matata Women's Institute was lieltl on February 26. Mrs Magee presided over a good attendance of members and friends. Miss Burt read the results of the Garden Party which was held to raise funds for soldiers' parcels— £10 2s 4d being the amount in hand. Two delegates, Mrs Ansell and Mrs Cummings, were selected to attend the bi-annual Council meeting. The roll call "The funny sayings nf Children," caused a great dealof laughter. Competitions: Apple Tart. MrsSmith 1. Best Flower, Mrs Ansell" 1; Mrs Smith 2; Miss Burt 3. Afternoon tea was served by the? hostesses Mrs Caverhill and Mrs Marr.
