HEADS SWIMMING POOL IT WON'T BE WASTED The council had arrived at that stage of easy relaxation, which is afi invariable signal for the Mayor, to ask in a guarded, hopeful tone 'any further business, Gentlemen' when Cr Cumniings in ponderous manner interpolated-: "There's, one thing, Your Worship, which I'd like to know. What's going to happen to the sand taken from the children's swimming pool at the Heads. If it isn't taken away it'll be all swept back into the pool again." Cr Shapley agreed that the deepening had been very beneficial, but added that the sand had been earmarked by the foreman for borough work. It was good clean sand! Cr Good: "Well I hope he moves it soon. The smell is not so good." Cr Shapley: "Well, you know what the parent said Avhen a complaint was received about her child at school —'My child is sent to school to be taught; not to be smelt."'
