EXTENSIVE SEARCH CONCLUDES

After a search extending over several days and embracing difficult virgin country, members of one of the parties seeking Darky Te Aho, 10 year old son of Te Alio, of Matatua Pa, Ruatahuna, found the lad's body on the bank of the Whakatane' River at Waikerikeri, some fourteen miles from Ruatoki. Death had apparently ben caused by drowning.

The youth had been missing from his home since Saturday last. It is understood that, with a companion, lie set out on horseback. The pair separated and one boy returned, but reported that he had lost his horse. Deceased's horse was subsequently recovered -but, owing to the swollen state of the river, fears were entertained for his safety.
